Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a 12-year-old boy who loved to play tricks. His job was to watch over the village's herd of goats not far from the houses. One day, feeling bored, he decided to shout, 'Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is attacking the goats!' The villagers, including a kind 30-year-old man, rushed to help him. But when they arrived, the boy laughed and said, 'I was just playing with you!'

The boy found the villagers' reactions so funny that he played the trick again the next day. Once more, he shouted, 'Wolf! Wolf!' and the villagers ran to help. And again, there was no wolf, just the boy laughing at them. The villagers were annoyed but returned to their homes. Little did the boy know, his tricks would soon have consequences.

On the third day, a real wolf appeared near the herd of goats. The boy was terrified and shouted, 'Wolf! Wolf! Please help me!' But this time, the villagers thought he was playing another trick. They ignored his cries, thinking he was just being mischievous again. The boy watched helplessly as the wolf attacked the goats.

The boy was very sad and realized the mistake he had made. He understood that lying had made it hard for people to believe him when he was telling the truth. The villagers felt sorry for the boy but reminded him that trust is important. From that day on, the boy promised to always tell the truth. He learned that honesty is always the best policy.
