Nika was excited, her birthday was near. She loved making pancakes, it was so clear. Julia, her mom, said, 'Today is the day, you’ll make the pancakes, all your own way.' With a big smile and a happy cheer, Nika felt ready, she had no fear. She gathered the ingredients, one by one, ready to start, this would be fun!
Mom helped Nika, they cracked the eggs. 'Be careful now, don't get any shells,' Julia begs. They added flour, milk, and a pinch of salt, Nika whisked it all without a halt. The batter was smooth, not a lump in sight. Nika felt proud, she did it just right. 'Good job,' said Mom, 'You’re doing great!' Nika grinned wide, she couldn’t wait.
The pan was hot, the batter was ready. Nika poured it in, her hands were steady. She watched as bubbles formed and popped, then flipped the pancake, it didn’t flop. One by one, she made a stack, golden brown, no looking back. Each pancake was perfect, round and neat. Nika’s heart was full, this was a treat.
The stack grew taller, pancake by pancake. Nika was careful, she didn’t want a mistake. She placed each one with gentle care, soon the tower was standing there. Julia clapped, 'Well done, my dear!' Nika beamed with pride, it was clear. The kitchen smelled sweet, like a dream, Nika’s pancakes, the best they’d ever seen.
With the pancakes done, it was time to eat. Nika set the table, making it neat. She placed the plates and forks just right, everything was ready, what a sight! Julia brought out butter and sour cream, the perfect toppings, like a dream. Nika’s tummy rumbled, she couldn’t wait, breakfast was ready, it would be great.
Nika and Julia sat down to feast, the pancakes were warm, to say the least. They spread the butter, dolloped the cream, each bite was heavenly, like a dream. Nika’s hard work had paid off well, the pancakes were perfect, you could tell. They laughed and chatted, enjoying the meal, the joy in the kitchen was very real.
After breakfast, the kitchen was a sight, dishes and batter, left and right. Nika looked around, a bit overwhelmed, but she remembered what her mom had spelled. 'A real chef cleans up, after they cook,' Nika nodded, she’d give it a look. She rolled up her sleeves, ready to start, cleaning the kitchen would be her next part.
Nika filled the sink with soapy water, washing the dishes, just like she ought to. She scrubbed and rinsed, each one clean, the kitchen sparkled, it was a dream. Julia watched, with a proud smile, Nika’s hard work was worth the while. 'Well done, Nika, you’ve done it all,' Nika felt proud, standing tall.
Just then, the doorbell rang, ding-dong! Nika ran to see who had come along. It was Olga and Gudzha, her grandparents dear, they came to visit, bringing cheer. 'We heard about your pancake feat,' said Olga, 'We came to eat!' Nika’s heart leapt with joy and pride, her family was here, by her side.
Nika brought out the pancakes, warm and sweet, everyone gathered, ready to eat. Olga and Gudzha took a bite, their faces lit up with pure delight. 'These are amazing, Nika dear,' Gudzha said, 'You’re a chef, it’s clear!' Nika’s heart swelled with joy and pride, her pancakes were loved, far and wide.
They sat together, a family complete, enjoying pancakes, such a treat. Laughter and stories filled the air, love and joy were everywhere. Nika felt happy, surrounded by love, it was a blessing, sent from above. She knew this day would always stay, in her heart, in a special way.
