Amanda woke up to a bright, sunny morning. She was excited because today was the day she would visit the zoo. Trouble, her Nubian doe friend, was just as excited. They had been planning this trip for weeks.
Amanda quickly got dressed and packed a small bag with snacks. Trouble trotted around her, eager to get going. Amanda's mom helped them get ready. They were soon on their way to the zoo.
The zoo was bustling with people and sounds. Amanda and Trouble were amazed by the entrance gate, which had a big lion statue. They bought their tickets and walked inside. The adventure was about to begin.
The first animals they saw were the flamingos. They were standing on one leg and looked very graceful. Trouble tried to stand on one leg too, but she wobbled and almost fell. Amanda laughed and gave her a pat.
Next, they visited the hippo enclosure. The hippo was huge and was lounging in the water. Trouble was fascinated by its size and kept staring. Amanda took a picture to remember the moment.
Amanda and Trouble then moved on to see the giraffes. The giraffes were so tall, they could reach the leaves on the highest trees. Trouble tried to stretch her neck like a giraffe. Amanda giggled and said, "You are a funny doe, Trouble."
The zebras were next on their list. They had beautiful black and white stripes. Trouble tried to count the stripes but got confused. Amanda told her, "It's okay, they are still beautiful."
Amanda and Trouble were a bit nervous to see the lion. The lion looked very powerful and majestic. Trouble hid behind Amanda for a moment. But Amanda reassured her, "Don't worry, we're safe here."
They decided to take a break and have lunch. Amanda shared her snacks with Trouble. They sat on a bench and enjoyed their meal. Trouble loved the carrots Amanda had packed for her.
While having lunch, they met Sunflower and Katnis, two other Nubian does. Sunflower was golden and Katnis had spots. They all became friends quickly. Amanda was happy to see Trouble enjoying herself.
The four friends decided to explore the zoo together. They visited the monkey enclosure and watched the monkeys swing from tree to tree. Trouble, Sunflower, and Katnis tried to mimic the monkeys. Amanda couldn’t stop laughing.
Next, they saw the penguins. The penguins were having a parade, waddling in a line. Trouble, Sunflower, and Katnis tried to waddle like penguins. Amanda thought they looked adorable.
The parrots were very colorful and could talk. One parrot said, "Hello!" and Trouble jumped in surprise. Amanda and her friends laughed. The parrots were very entertaining.
They visited the elephant next. The elephant was big and gentle. Trouble, Sunflower, and Katnis watched in awe as it used its trunk to pick up food. Amanda took another picture to remember the day.
As the day came to an end, they visited the gift shop. Amanda bought a small toy lion as a souvenir. Trouble, Sunflower, and Katnis each got a colorful ribbon. They all agreed it had been a wonderful day.
Amanda and Trouble said goodbye to Sunflower and Katnis. They headed home, tired but happy. Amanda tucked Trouble into her cozy bed. They dreamed of their next adventure together.
